The fall convention returns to the South in 2023, for Sunday to Thursday in Atlanta.
Sponsored by College Media Association and Associated Collegiate Press, the nation’s largest gathering of college journalists and advisers meets at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for three days of sessions, keynote speakers, critiques and contests.
Plus we’ll offer our traditional hands-on workshops and discussion groups, including our focused pre-convention workshops.
The nation’s top awards in collegiate media will be presented, including ACP Pacemakers and CMA Pinnacles.
Other convention activities include an exhibit hall with vendors who sell to student media, ACP’s Best of Show contest, receptions, awards convocations and critiques.
Breakout sessions for newspapers, online outlets, broadcast stations, yearbooks and magazines meet the publishing, online/digital and broadcasting needs of all college and university student media — including sessions on collegiate media in this transformational time.
Some sessions are specifically for larger collegiate-media organizations. Others support journalists and advisers with smaller staffs, including those at community colleges and private schools. Other sessions are for those looking for the latest information from trends, platforms and funding sources. Whether it’s ethics and law, technology and design, advertising and business operations, photography and illustration or just the basics of news writing and reporting, this convention covers all the bases.
With attendance upwards of 1,000 delegates, the annual fall gathering has become the place to seek solutions to the most challenging publishing and broadcasting problems, share success stories, see what’s new in the media marketplace, discover trends and network with students and advisers from the United States, Canada and often other countries.
